Exhibition of CoolTube technology at electronica 2012

MarulaLED was the only company from South Africa to exhibit at electronica 2012, an international trade fair for Electronic Components, Systems and Applications. This year's trade show in Munich, Germany saw more than 72,000 attendees from 78 countries. The four-day fair presented the future of electronics and show-cased application-oriented solutions, with an emphasis on intelligent and energy-efficient solutions in the sectors of energy storage, LEDs and smart grids.

MarulaLED's Ruud de Vaal said “I received lots of surprised looks when I lit up our stand with high-power LED luminaires that did not use fin-based heat sinks. Many visitors, still new to CoolTube™ technology, asked where the heat sink was mounted! CoolTube™ uses no aluminium at all. Even the printed circuit boards used with CoolTube™ designs are ordinary FR4 boards constructed from epoxy-resin material. While MarulaLED's current applications of CoolTube™ are focused on cooling of LEDs, there was widespread interest from thermal engineers for a range of other applications for this novel cooling technology
